Bookmap's whole argument is one picture — resting liquidity painted over time, with traded volume as bubbles on top — and for a decade the people buying it have been CME futures traders. Crypto is a second line of business on the same engine, sold on the same four packages, and it is the cheap half: crypto exchange data is free on every tier while futures and equity data is a separate subscription that costs more than the software. The product is a desktop application for Windows, macOS and Linux (Linux "limited"), connecting straight to exchanges with your own API keys. There is a browser version, Bookmap Web, sold from its own page; this card is about the desktop product, and the vendor does not publish which packages Web is included on. What you get is a heatmap, a DOM, Time & Sales with volume-dot clustering, CVD, large-trade alerts and — above the free tier — record and replay. What you get above that is a long ladder of add-ons, most of which arrive only at the $99 tier. ## Pricing Four packages. The figures below are month-to-month; the yearly column is about 20% cheaper per month and the tier notes carry it. **Digital — free forever.** One symbol on screen at a time, one hour of crypto backfill when you subscribe to a symbol, simulated trading, the heatmap, CVD, Time & Sales, the alerts, the 4-hour order-flow course and the Discord. No Multibook, no record and replay, no order entry from the chart. **Digital Plus — $19/mo** ($16/mo billed yearly, no lifetime option). Three symbols, three hours of crypto backfill, **crypto order entry from the chart and DOM**, record and replay, chart synchronisation, the extended order book, AVWAP, price levels, trading journal and statistics — and the Multibook add-on at no extra charge. **Global — $49/mo** ($39/mo yearly, $990 lifetime). Ten symbols, 24 hours of crypto backfill, multiple broker support, the liquidation indicator, and eligibility for the paid futures and equity feeds. **Global Plus — $99/mo** ($79/mo yearly, $1,990 lifetime). Twenty symbols, seven days of crypto backfill, cross-trading, the Multibook Customizer, and the add-ons a serious order-flow trader will assume are in the box: DOM Pro, Execution Pro, Footprint, Absorption, Sweep Indicator, Multi-Account Trading, Multibrackets. Paid subscriptions are non-refundable; you cancel renewal before the next billing date. **Crypto data is included on every tier.** Futures and equities are not: the same page quotes BookmapData at $34–79/mo, dxFeed futures at $37/mo per exchange, dxFeed US equities at $34–119/mo and Rithmic at $40–101/mo, with Nasdaq stocks at $29 for the first month then $59, plus $130/mo in exchange fees for professional access. That asymmetry is the single most important thing on this card for a crypto reader: the crypto side of Bookmap is the part with no data bill attached. The Multibook add-on is free to paid subscribers "for a limited time only", and the vendor warns that after a cancellation free access cannot be recovered even if you resubscribe. ## Data & coverage **Over 20 crypto exchanges, and the data list is longer than the execution list.** The adapter documentation, updated 25 August 2026, names Binance (spot), Binance Futures, Bitfinex, BitFlyer, Bitstamp, Bittrex, Bybit, Deribit, HitBTC, Kraken (spot), Kraken Futures, KuCoin, OKEx and Poloniex. For all but KuCoin, market data needs no credentials at all — you open a chart and it connects. Two are explicitly read-only: **KuCoin and OKEx are both documented as "Trading: Not supported yet"**, and KuCoin is the one exchange that wants API credentials even to show you a chart. **Depth is not equal across venues**, and the connectivity table says so per adapter. Full depth on Binance (snapshot 5000 with unlimited updates), Binance Futures (snapshot 1000), Bitstamp, CoinbasePro, Deribit, Kraken Futures and OKEX. Capped elsewhere — Bybit at 200 levels, Kraken spot at 1000, Bittrex at 500, Bitfinex and Huobi simply "Limited". On a product sold as a picture of the book, the cap is the product. **Backfill is the tier ladder.** Subscribe to a crypto symbol and you get one hour of history on Digital, three on Digital Plus, 24 on Global and seven days on Global Plus. That is all the history there is — Bookmap is a live instrument, and anything longer means recording it yourself, which starts at Digital Plus. **Your API keys stay with you.** The adapter page states that keys and secrets are used only to authenticate with the exchange's own API servers and are not shared with any Bookmap server. Since this is a desktop application, nothing quotes on your behalf while the machine is off. One practical note the vendor flags: a Bybit key created without an IP binding expires after three months. The vendor labels most crypto adapters alpha, in its own words. ## Integrations Two APIs. The **L1 add-ons API** is Java, documented in a javadoc jar that ships inside the installer; add-ons can manage orders, read full market depth, automate trading, draw custom indicators and record or export data. The **Python API** covers the same L1 surface for people who would rather not write Java, on Python 3.7.14, with two documented gaps — no replay mode, and no BookmapData or dxFeed support. Below both sits an **L0 Connect API** for writing your own data adapter, which is how unusual venues reach the platform. A marketplace sells third-party add-ons and indicators; the pricing matrix marks which of them a given package can run, and roughly half of them need Global or above. No webhooks appear in the knowledge base's API section, and there is no MCP server. ## Limitations - **You cannot trade from the Multibook chart.** The consolidated order book is the reason to choose Bookmap over a single-venue chart, and the vendor's own FAQ answers the question flatly — the feature has not been implemented yet. The crypto product page repeats it and offers the workaround: open the same instrument on one exchange in another tab and click there. So the merged view informs a decision that you then execute somewhere else, by hand, at a price the merged view was not showing you. For a category defined by putting several venues behind one ticket, that is the limitation the whole card turns on. - **Multibook takes 2 to 5 instruments**, not twenty, and it needs a paid subscription. Automatic installation exists only in the 7.3 alpha build, which the vendor says is not recommended for live trading, and only on Windows. - **KuCoin and OKEx are view-only**, per the adapter documentation — and the connectivity table on a different vendor page ticks OKEX for trading anyway. The two pages disagree; the adapter page is the more recently updated one. - **The vendor's pages disagree about the free tier too.** The pricing matrix marks crypto order entry unavailable on Digital and available from Digital Plus; the connectivity table gives the crypto adapters a minimum licence of "Digital" with trading "Yes". If free live trading is your reason for downloading it, confirm before you rely on it. - **And about the symbol limit.** The pricing page says Digital Plus shows three symbols at once. The crypto FAQ, updated the same month, says twenty. The pricing page is the one the vendor has to keep current. - **The connector list has not been pruned.** Bittrex is still a documented adapter; Bittrex Global disabled all trading on 4 December 2023. The connectivity tables also still carry CoinFlex, Liquid, CoinbasePro, Huobi and OKCoin. - **Order-flow indicators are a $99 product.** Footprint, DOM Pro, Execution Pro, Absorption and the Sweep Indicator are Global Plus only; the order-book imbalance, large-lot tracker and strength indicators are marked "Replay mode only" on Digital Plus and Global, meaning you can see them on a recording and not on the live market. - **Hardware is a real cost.** The vendor's own recommendation for full-depth crypto data is 32 GB of RAM and a modern i9 or Ryzen 9; the minimum is 8 GB and a Core i5. A middling laptop will run the free tier on one symbol and struggle with what you are paying for. The merged book is for reading, not for clicking. ### Does Bookmap charge for crypto market data? No. Crypto exchange data is included in every package, including the free Digital one, and connects directly to the exchange without an account for most venues.
