It is closed source and it is sold as a lifetime licence — a combination almost nothing else in this category offers, and the reason this card exists alongside the hosted platforms and the open-source engines. The strategy library is the product. A grid family — stepgrid, stepgridhybrid, stepgridscalp, sgsfutures, spotgrid, spotgridadvanced, futuresgrid and stepgridhedge — sits alongside a builder layer whose buy and sell methods can be mixed freely: ADX, ATR trailing stops, Bollinger variants, EMA spread, Ichimoku, MACD, support and resistance, TSSL and a dozen more. Above that sits AutoConfig, which rewrites your settings and adds or removes pairs on rules you define, and above that plain JavaScript, with module imports and filesystem access, for strategies the presets cannot express. The legal entity behind the brand is Gunthar de Niro S.L.R.; the product is sold and supported as Gunbot. Liveness, in dates. The current build is 31.3.0, and the Linux and macOS packages on the vendor's download host were last modified on **13 September 2026** — 288 MB and 301 MB respectively. The newest post on the vendor's blog is dated 18 March 2026. ## Pricing Three lifetime tiers and, since recently, one subscription. **The list prices are 199, 299 and 499 euros, and nobody appears to pay them.** On 21 September 2026 all three were discounted to 44.25, 111.75 and 186.75 euros under a banner reading "Summer deals". The blog records a Bitcoin-halving promotion, a Black Friday campaign and a summer upgrade offer, so treat the list price as a reference point and the discounted figure as the real one — while remembering that a discount is the vendor's to withdraw. Payment is in Bitcoin, altcoins, stablecoins or PayPal. What the money buys is API slots and the backtester. Standard gets one exchange connection and no backtesting; Pro gets three and the backtester; DeFi gets unlimited slots plus the decentralised venues, custom JavaScript, the REST API, TradingView alerts and the mobile app. **The tokens in each tier are not a bonus.** They are the balance the licence checks, airdropped to the wallet you register — so "includes 500 GUNTHY" reads as a gift and functions as a requirement, and selling them is giving up the licence they authenticate. **The fourth tier contradicts the sales pitch, and the vendor's own FAQ has not noticed.** Gunbot Unlimited is 29 euros a month for a cloud workspace that controls bot executables you still run locally, with no slot limit and cloud-side backtesting. Meanwhile the support article titled "Are there any additional costs involved in using Gunbot?" still answers that Gunbot offers lifetime licences and that there are no recurring costs. Both pages are live; only one of them describes the whole catalogue. There is no free tier and no trial. ## Data & coverage **Twenty-three spot venues and nine futures venues**, connected one API slot at a time. Spot covers Binance and Binance US, Bitfinex, Bitget, BitMEX, BingX, Bybit, CEX, Coinbase Advanced Trade, Crypto.com, Gate.io, HitBTC, Huobi Global, Kraken, KuCoin, MEXC, OKX and Poloniex, plus four decentralised platforms — PancakeSwap, dYdX v3 and v4, HyperLiquid and Aster — which are DeFi-tier only. Futures runs on Binance Futures, BitMEX and its testnet, Bitget, Bybit, BYDFi, dYdX, Kraken Futures and OKX. One entry in that list is not a crypto venue at all: **Alpaca**, added for US stocks and ETFs. It is a genuine capability and it is outside what this catalogue covers, so nothing here evaluates it. Like every engine in this category, Gunbot ships no market data. Prices, candles and books come from whichever venue you connected, on that venue's terms and subject to that venue's outage. ## Integrations **A documented REST API**, covering authentication, balances, assets and pairs, config files, market data, PnL and system status, with first-party JavaScript and Python SDKs published by the vendor. **TradingView alerts** arrive either by passphrase-protected webhook or through an IMAP listener that reads alert emails — the second is unusual and is the fallback when outbound webhooks are not an option. Telegram delivers trade notifications. **No MCP server.** Zero mentions across 599 URLs in the vendor's sitemap. The two "Helpful GPTs" in the site footer are custom GPTs hosted at OpenAI that answer questions about Gunbot; they are not an interface the product speaks, and they do not make this flag true. ## Limitations **The licence is a token balance you must keep, and the two documentation sites disagree about how much.** Setup creates an ERC-20 wallet — Gunbot can generate one and write the credentials to a text file — and the licence is registered against that address together with your API keys and a number of GUNTHY. The vendor's wiki is explicit about what that number does: it is part of the licence key, you should "hold these tokens at all times to be sure your Gunbot can run", 1,500 tokens buys three API slots and 2,500 buys five, and a rank derived from the balance unlocks bitRage at rank 20 and Market Maker at rank 10 — modules the vendor says are not for sale separately. Access persists only while the balance does not fall. **The amounts on the two sites are not the same amounts.** The shop sells Standard, Pro and DeFi with 500, 750 and 2,500 tokens included; the wiki lists requirements for Starter 400, Standard 1,000, Pro 1,500 and Ultimate 2,500, adding that discounted licences have reduced requirements. Those are different tier names and different numbers for the same product, and nothing on either site reconciles them — so treat the token requirement as a question for support before you buy, not a figure you can read off a page. What neither site states is the grace period: how far the balance may fall, and for how long, before the bot stops. **The archive of previous builds is decorative.** The downloads page lists every release back to 31.0.3, and the links return 1,188 bytes of HTML — the download app's own page — rather than a zip. Three versions checked, three identical shells. If a release breaks your setup, the vendor's own archive will not put the previous one back. **Closed source, self-hosted.** You own the machine, the uptime and the key file, and you still cannot read what is executing your strategy. That is why this card appears in [self-hosted](https://cryptomarkets.tools/collections/self-hosted) and not in [open source](https://cryptomarkets.tools/collections/open-source), and it is the only paid *application* on that list rather than a library. **Most of what you will read about Gunbot was written by someone who earns on the sale.** Seventeen authorised resellers are listed by the vendor, each on its own subdomain, and the site's own content-security policy frames reseller-hosted demo instances on half a dozen third-party hosts and non-standard ports. The reseller programme pays up to 100 dollars per licence with 30-day attribution; a separate referral programme pays users. None of that is hidden and none of it is unusual — it is the reason to read the vendor's documentation rather than the reviews. **Copy trading is a separate purchase from somebody else.** GunbotHub, at copytrading.gunbot.com, is a marketplace where strategy providers publish signals and subscribers copy them, and Gunbot Unlimited supports it. The licence on this card buys an engine you configure; the marketplace sells somebody else's decisions and nothing here evaluates it. **The leaderboard is self-selected user data.** Bots appear only if their owner opts in, with a minimum of fifteen days of history and one entry per licence, refreshed every five minutes, and each entry offers its strategy settings for download. Yes. The vendor's wiki says it in one sentence — hold these tokens at all times to be sure your Gunbot can run — and states that your wallet address combined with a number of tokens is your licence key. Holding more than your plan delivered raises what you get — 1,500 tokens for three API slots, 2,500 for five, and a token-balance "user rank" that unlocks the bitRage and Market Maker modules at ranks 20 and 10, which the vendor says are not for sale by any other route. Access stays as long as the balance does not decrease. ### Can I install an older version if a release breaks something? Not from the vendor's archive. Every "previous version" link on the downloads page returns about 1,188 bytes of the download app's own HTML shell rather than a zip file — checked against three different versions on 21 September 2026. For software you host yourself, that removes the rollback you would normally rely on. ### Is Gunbot open source? No. It is distributed as a signed binary for Windows, macOS and Linux under a paid licence, and the source is not published. It is self-hosted without being open source, which is an unusual combination in this category — you run the process, you cannot read or fork what it runs. ### Is there a free tier or a trial? Neither. The only way to see it working without paying is a public demo instance run by one of the authorised resellers, and the leaderboard of live user bots on the vendor's site.
