# ProfitTrailer

A closed-source Java bot you run yourself — trailing buys, DCA and 40-plus indicators.

**Best for:** traders comfortable with a command line who want a self-hosted bot that trails entries and exits and averages down on a few exchanges; not for a point-and-click setup, code-level strategies or bought signals.

## What it is

A trading bot you download and run yourself. It is a Java application that trades through your
exchange API keys and serves its interface to a browser: a dashboard, a "possible buys" log, the
pairs it holds waiting to sell, the DCA list, a sales log and a configuration editor with basic and
advanced modes. The logic is a trailing one — the bot waits for an entry condition, trails the
price before buying and trails it again before selling — with DCA buying to average down positions
that move against it. The product page counts 20-plus buy and sell strategies that can be combined,
up to 26 at once, from indicators such as LOWBB, RSI, BBWIDTH, MACD and EMAGAIN; the homepage counts
40-plus indicators.

The company is ProfitTrailer B.V., registered in Curaçao. The homepage's "Make profit while you
sleep" is marketing; this card describes what the software does.

**Scope note.** The shop sells two third-party signal subscriptions — SMP Signals at 20 euros a
month and Crypt0m00n Signals at 14.99 — and runs a signal-stats site. The wiki is plain that signals
are "not part of your ProfitTrailer product license", and a bot set to the SIGNAL strategy buys and
sells on what the provider sends. That is somebody else's decision sold as a subscription; this
catalogue does not list those services and nothing here assesses them. The card is for the bot,
which executes rules you configure.

## Pricing

In euros, from the plan table on the homepage, read on 23 October 2026. **The /pricing page is not
a pricing page**: it carries lorem-ipsum text and a clothing size chart.

- **Subscription** — 50 a month or 449 a year ("save 25%").
- **Lifetime** — 1,999 once. The homepage offers it with a Buy Now button; the shop's product page
  read "Out of stock".

Both are "license only": three live bots, seven saved configurations, paper trading, notifications,
stats, Discord support, and every listed exchange.

**Add-ons from the shop**, per month unless stated: the TradingView integration from 5, an extra
API-key slot from 12.50, configuration save slots 10 to 50 (the page does not give the period), and
a ProfitTrailer VPS from 15 for one to five live bots, which still needs a licence. A Multi Exchange
Upgrade at 200 euros (marked down from 300) is only for legacy lifetime licences and locks them to
version 2.

## Data & coverage

**Exchanges on the homepage:** Poloniex, Binance, Binance US, Binance Futures, KuCoin, KuCoin
Futures, Huobi, Huobi Futures, Bybit, Bybit Futures and Kraken, plus OANDA for forex. Huobi now trades
as HTX, "formerly Huobi" by its own site. The list is behind the software: release 2.6.0 added Kraken Futures,
which the homepage does not name. The wiki's exchange page still lists Binance DEX at binance.org.

The bot reads prices from the exchange it trades on; ProfitTrailer supplies no market data of its
own. Test mode trades the same configuration on paper, signals included.

## Integrations

**TradingView alerts** reach the bot through a webhook URL on the vendor's signal server, in about
five seconds by the wiki, with the 5-euro add-on. The wiki's index has no page on an API for
controlling the bot from outside.

**Liveness, in dates.** Release 2.6.1 on 10 October 2026 (bug fixes), 2.6.0 on 30 September 2026
(a new GUI and Kraken Futures), 2.5.72 on 5 May 2026 and 2.5.71 on 26 March 2026, from the GitHub
releases feed of the `taniman/profit-trailer` repository, which carries no source code.

## Limitations

- **Java 8 or nothing.** The requirements page says Java 9 and later are not supported, which
rules out a current runtime on a fresh machine.
- **Built for the command line.** The wiki's first requirement is being able to type commands, move
files and edit configuration in a text editor — "if you are a 'Point and Click' type of person,
this might not be the right software for you."
- **Bandwidth.** About 30 GB a day of data by the wiki, which recommends a 1 TB monthly cap.
- **No backtester.** The homepage, the product pages and the wiki's index name none; paper trading
is the way to try a configuration.
- **The vendor's own pages lag the product.** A placeholder /pricing page, a footer reading © 2021,
an exchange list missing what the latest release added, and a lifetime licence on sale on one
page and out of stock on another.
- **Three live bots per licence.** More means another licence, extra API-key slots or the VPS tiers.

## Alternatives

[Gunbot](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/gunbot) is the closest match — closed-source, self-hosted, licensed by the month in
euros — and [HaasOnline](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/haasonline) sells a self-hosted TradeServer alongside its cloud;
the two are compared in [Gunbot vs HaasOnline](https://cryptomarkets.tools/compare/gunbot-vs-haasonline).
[OctoBot](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/octobot) and [Freqtrade](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/freqtrade) are free and open source for anyone who
would rather read the code they run. [Cryptohopper](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/cryptohopper) is the hosted version of the
same idea, with a signal marketplace of its own attached.

## FAQ

### How much does ProfitTrailer cost?

50 euros a month or 449 a year for a licence that runs three live bots, by the homepage plan table on 23 October 2026, or 1,999 euros for a lifetime licence that the shop listed as out of stock the same day. Add-ons are extra — 5 euros a month for TradingView alerts, 12.50 for each additional API-key slot, and a hosted VPS from 15.

### Is ProfitTrailer open source?

No. Its GitHub repository holds a README, an update script and the release notes, and the releases themselves ship as downloads; there is no source code. You run the closed binary on your own machine or on the vendor's VPS.

### Does ProfitTrailer include signals?

No. The wiki says signals are not part of the licence and need a separate subscription to an approved provider or to the TradingView integration. The shop resells two third-party signal services, which this catalogue does not list or assess.

### What does ProfitTrailer need to run?

Java 8 — the wiki's requirements page says Java 9 and later are not supported — on Windows, macOS, Linux or a Raspberry Pi 3, with 2 GB of RAM. It warns the bot can use about 30 GB of data a day, and that it is not for a point-and-click user.
