## What it is

Talos is the order and execution management system a digital-asset desk sits in front of. The
vendor's own framing is that it is "much more than an OEMS" — a multi-asset trading platform that
connects buy side and sell side to exchanges, OTC desks and prime brokers, with liquidity
aggregation, a fee-aware smart order router, an algo suite and post-trade analytics behind one
screen and one set of APIs. The client list it names is banks, brokers, OTC dealers, market
makers, systematic and crypto-native hedge funds and asset managers.

The trading platform is one module of several. White Label, an RFQ platform, Portfolio
Construction, Portfolio & Risk Management, Treasury & Settlement and Post-Trade Analytics are sold
alongside it, and a separate data line sits next to all of them. That data line is Coin Metrics,
which Talos announced it was acquiring on 16 July 2025 and now sells under its own brand. It is a
different product with a different buyer and a separate card at
[/tools/coin-metrics](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/coin-metrics); everything below is about the trading platform.

This is the desk end of the category, not the active-trader end. There is no signup, no card, no
trial you start yourself. You are onboarded as an institutional counterparty under a negotiated
contract, and the vendor says a standard integration can be live in as little as two days while a
customised workflow takes two weeks or more.

## Pricing

There is no published price and no published tier structure. The pricing URL 404s, the sitemap
carries no page of prices, and the FAQ ends at a sales address. What the vendor will say about
commercial shape is that its affiliates "offer software-as-a-service products", so the arrangement
is a licence rather than a per-trade fee — but the number, the minimum and the term all arrive in
a quote.

Prospective clients can be given a Talos Sandbox environment "depending on the integration". How
long that lasts, what it includes and whether it costs anything are not stated anywhere public.

One thing the pricing silence hides that a reader should price in separately: Talos does not
resell liquidity. The footer states that clients independently negotiate their arrangements with
liquidity providers bilaterally and that Talos is not a party to them. The subscription buys the
plumbing; the exchange accounts, OTC credit lines and custody relationships are still yours to
open and to pay for.

## Data & coverage

The venue count depends which of the vendor's own pages you read. The trading page says 50+
exchanges and OTC desks. The home page says ~60 venues in one place and counts 110 providers in
the Talos Network in another, with 9,842 symbols traded on the platform. The portfolio module says
100+ exchanges, OTC trading venues and custodians. Those are different populations — a custodian
is not a venue and a provider is not an exchange — but the gap is wide enough that the only useful
number is the one a salesperson gives you for the instruments you actually trade.

Instruments are crypto spot, futures, perpetual swaps and options, plus spot FX, with synthetic
crossing between FX and crypto and, since Q3 2025, cross-asset perpetual trades expressed as
synthetic crosses. Options coverage is specifically the complete Deribit chain. DeFi access is one
venue — Uniswap, through Uniswap Labs' trading APIs, with more decentralised venues described as
roadmap.

The portfolio side pulls trades, positions, balances and transfers from the connected venues in
real time into one store, and gives a live view across spot, fiat, perpetuals, futures and options
including options greeks, with sub-account rollups arranged to match funds or strategies and
post-trade allocation expressed in percentage terms, crypto units or counter-currency. Post-trade
analytics covers historical TCA, execution markouts, quoted-spread liquidity quality at a range of
sizes, tick-level and OHLCV data and real-time order-book snapshots. On-chain transaction
monitoring inside the platform arrived in the Q3 2025 release, which is the whole of what the
on-chain flag on this card claims — this is not an analytics product.

## Integrations

Order entry is FIX, REST or WebSocket, and you can submit your own algorithms' orders
programmatically over the same APIs. The supplied algo suite is TWAP, Percent of Volume, Pegged,
Steady Paced, Time Sliced, Multileg "and others", with Quantizer added in Q3 2025 to work a steady
paced order against the BRR. The router is fee-aware and is described as optimising within funding
and credit constraints rather than on headline price alone.

Around the order, the provider network covers exchanges, OTC desks, lenders, custodians, DeFi
protocols, prime brokers, FX providers, PMS and RMS systems, fund administrators, TradFi OEMSs,
staking partners and FCMs, with settlement through a preferred custodian from the blotter. In Q3
2025 Talos also integrated the OEMS with BlackRock's Aladdin, which matters if your book already
lives there.

Connectivity credentials are self-installed API keys, and client environments are described as
isolated and encrypted with auditing and permissioning; the FAQ points at a completed SOC 2 Type 2
examination. Configurable real-time order status notifications arrived in the same Q3 2025 release
— that is what the alerts flag on this card means, not price alerts.

## Limitations

**No price, at any depth.** You cannot budget, compare against another OEMS or check whether the
desk next door was quoted the same number. That is the normal state of this end of the category,
and it is still the single biggest difference between this card and anything a trader can buy on a
Tuesday.

**You cannot read the manual before you sign.** The knowledge base and full API documentation are
handed over at onboarding. The public documentation host, kb.talostrading.com, answers an
anonymous request with a redirect into an Auth0 visitor-auth flow, so an engineer cannot size the
integration work from outside.

**Derivatives are gated by who and where you are.** The trading page's own footnote says
derivative integrations may not be available to all customers, are generally available only to
institutional customers who are non-US persons located outside the US, and may require enhanced
due diligence. A US fund reading the options coverage above should confirm it applies to them
before anything else.

**It does not make you compliant.** The white-label page states in terms that it is a software
platform only and does not provide registrations or satisfy KYC, AML, legal or compliance
obligations. Nor does it bring liquidity relationships with it.

**One DEX.** On-chain execution is Uniswap through its trading APIs. Everything else decentralised
is roadmap, and a desk whose flow is on-chain will find this the thinnest part of the coverage.

**Not a chart to trade from.** None of the vendor's solution pages describes a screener, a
backtester or a charting workspace — what they show is execution analytics, an order blotter and
a portfolio view — and nothing about this product is aimed at a person trading their own account.

## Alternatives

In this catalogue the closest comparison is [Wyden](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/wyden), which sells the same shape of
system to a different buyer — a bank or broker running a client-facing brokerage, rather than a
fund executing its own book. The data half of this vendor is
[Coin Metrics](https://cryptomarkets.tools/tools/coin-metrics), which is bought by research and pricing teams and has nothing
to do with routing an order.

## FAQ

### What does Talos cost?

Nobody outside a contract knows. There is no pricing page — /pricing returns 404 and the vendor's own sitemap of 616 URLs contains no page of prices — and every call to action on the site is a demo request. Budget for a procurement cycle rather than a card payment.

### Does Talos hold my coins or my exchange accounts?

No to both. The trading page states that Talos and its affiliates do not sit in the flow of funds and never come into possession of customer currency or crypto. You install your own exchange and OTC API keys into the platform, and the footer is explicit that clients negotiate their liquidity arrangements bilaterally — Talos is not a party to them.

### Is this the same company as Coin Metrics?

Since July 2025, yes — Talos announced the acquisition on 16 July 2025 and now sells the data line under its own name. They are still two products with two buyers, so the data side has its own card at [/tools/coin-metrics](/tools/coin-metrics) and this one is the trading platform.

### Can a small firm buy Talos?

Not realistically. The UK financial-promotion notice in the site footer limits the material to high-net-worth companies, associations and trusts under Article 49 of the FSMA 2000 Financial Promotion Order — a body corporate with net assets or called-up share capital of at least 5 million pounds, or a trust with at least 10 million pounds in gross assets. Derivative access is restricted further.
