ATAS

What it is

A volume-analysis desktop from the futures world — footprint charts, Smart DOM, tape patterns and order entry from the chart — that connects to eight crypto exchanges over your own API keys. The company is a Latvian software vendor that has been shipping this platform since 2010; its own disclaimer on every page says it is not a broker or an exchange, and that is exactly the shape of the product. You bring the accounts.

It is not crypto-first, and the pricing page makes that plain if you read the rows rather than the prices: half the feature matrix is about CME futures data, equities, prop-firm gateways and options on futures. What crypto gets is the chart engine — 400-plus footprint variations, a liquidity heatmap in beta, cluster search, big-trade filters — pointed at an exchange websocket.

Two builds ship on one subscription: ATAS X, a rewrite in beta for Windows and macOS that the vendor advertises at 2.5× the response time, and Classic ATAS for Windows only. Both run on every plan including the free one, and both can be installed at once provided they launch from the same IP address.

Pricing

Quoted in euro, and the page loads on the annual tab. The big "/month" numbers you see first — €19.95, €39.95, €49.95 — are the yearly rate divided by twelve. The month-to-month figures below come from the 1-month slide.

Start — €0, forever, no card. One active crypto connection, two instruments for simultaneous analysis, three indicators per chart, standard timeframes only. It includes footprint and cluster charts, Market Profile and TPO, the Smart DOM and DOM Trader, the trading journal, the economic calendar, cluster search and the C# API. Futures data on this tier is delayed 15 minutes; crypto data is real-time. There is no Market Replay and no big-trades history.

Plus — €24.95/mo. Adds Range, Renko and Reversal bars, tape patterns, CVD pro, big-trade detection with seven days of history, Market Replay, the Following Manager and the risk manager. Six indicators per chart, six instruments. Still one active connection.

Pro — €69.95/mo. Three active connections, real-time futures and stock data, twelve indicators per chart, twenty instruments, and the whole custom-timeframe set — Volume, Delta, Tick, OrderFlow, Cumulative Trades, seconds charts.

Ultra — €89.95/mo. Unlimited connections and indicators, plus the MBO bundle (Iceberg Tracker, Stop Runs Tracker, Sweeps Tracker) and the beta options board and strategy analyzer. See the limitations below before paying the €20 step from Pro for a crypto workflow.

A 14-day trial of any paid plan is available once per user and wants a card; a full refund is offered within 14 days of a first payment. Lifetime licences exist at €999, €1,799 and €1,999.

Data & coverage

Eight crypto exchanges, and the two builds do not agree on which eight. The help centre carries connection articles for Binance, Bybit, Bitget, OKX, WhiteBit, Bitfinex, Phemex and Kraken. The download page's online-data lists then diverge: ATAS X names Binance, Bitfinex, Bitget, Bybit, Kraken, OKX, Phemex and WhiteBit, while Classic ATAS names the same set with BitMEX in place of Kraken. Check which build supports your venue before you choose one.

Data and execution are the same list, which is the simple case in this category — every crypto connector is an exchange you can also send orders to. The split that matters here is not data versus execution but crypto versus everything else: real-time crypto data is ticked on all four tiers, while real-time futures data needs Pro and is otherwise delayed by 15 minutes, and real-time stock data does not exist below Pro at all.

Market-data connections create themselves. Open a crypto chart and ATAS works out which exchange the instrument belongs to and connects the right market-data connector without keys and without you configuring anything. The older manual "Crypto Data" connection still exists but is no longer the default source. Keys are only needed to trade.

Trading on the free tier is real. The comparison table's "Order management on real accounts" row reads "Only for Crypto" for Start and Plus and "All supported exchanges" for Pro and Ultra. Crypto is the market ATAS lets you trade without paying, and it is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight — the platform earns from futures traders who need real-time CME data.

Big-trades history is 7 days on Plus and, per the vendor's own wording, "temporarily 7 days" on Pro and Ultra with 30 and 90 days "coming soon". Treat the 30/90 figures as a roadmap.

Paper trading exists in two shapes: ATAS SIM, a futures simulator on delayed data, and Crypto SIM, a demo account for Binance Futures only, with orders filled on ATAS's own demo server.

Integrations

The API is C# — custom indicators, calculation modules and automation algorithms, compiled against the platform and running inside it, with a marketplace where third parties sell theirs. It is ticked on every tier including Start. There is no REST or WebSocket API for reading ATAS data from outside.

Webhooks are newer and more useful than the name suggests: indicator alerts can post to an external service, and several conditions can be combined so that one consolidated signal fires rather than one per indicator. Before that, alerts went to Telegram only.

The news module carries a Financial Juice feed, and there is an RSS reader and an economic calendar alongside it.

No MCP server. The help centre's search for "MCP" returns one unrelated article about cross-trading, and the API page describes C# and nothing else.

Limitations

• One crypto exchange at a time until Pro. The active-connections row is 1 / 1 / 3 / unlimited. At Start and Plus, ATAS is a very good single-venue order-flow chart and not a multi-venue terminal at all. The entry price for two exchanges on one screen is €69.95 a month.
• The Ultra premium does not reach crypto. The MBO bundle — the Iceberg, Stop Runs and Sweeps trackers that the €20 step from Pro is sold on — carries a tooltip saying MBO-based indicators currently work only with the Rithmic connector, with dxFeed support under development. Both are futures gateways. The options board and strategy analyzer are for options on futures and stocks. The bundle is also dated: the Ultra card says it is available until 27 November 2026.
• The pricing page contradicts itself on cross-trading. The four tier cards mark Cross-Trading unavailable on Start, Plus and Pro and available on Ultra; the full comparison table lower down the same page ticks it on all four. One of them is wrong and the vendor has not noticed.
• Binance wants a futures account even for spot. The connection article opens by telling you to create a futures account on Binance first, because "without an active futures account, the connection may not work correctly". Hedge mode is not supported either — you must switch the exchange account to one-way position mode to trade through ATAS.
• OCO orders on Binance are emulated on your computer. The vendor's own warning, in capitals on its own help page: if you are disconnected and one leg fills, the rest of the group will not be cancelled. That is a stop that does not exist when the laptop sleeps.
• No consolidated cross-venue order book. Everything the crypto page, the markets page and the comparison table describe — DOM Trader, Smart DOM, the beta heatmap — is per instrument on one exchange. Several exchanges at once, above Pro, means several windows.
• ATAS X is beta, and the vendor says outright that moving Classic's functionality across "will take time" and that less popular modules come later. If a specific Classic panel is your reason for buying, check it exists in X before committing to macOS.
• Below Pro the chart types are thin. Volume, Delta, Tick, OrderFlow, Cumulative Trades, seconds charts and custom timeframes are all Pro and above. Start has standard timeframes only.
• No backtester. The modules section of the comparison table lists Market Replay and the trading journal and nothing else; the C# API is for indicators and automation. Replaying a recorded session is not the same as testing a rule over a year.
